“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” — 1 Timothy 2:5 KJV
TOPIC: *YOU CAN NOT BUY WHAT CHRIST ALREADY PAID FOR.*
You can do many good things. But you can not use those good things to purchase forgiveness.
*YOU CANNOT PAY GOD WITH YOUR MORALITY.*
You can not balance your sins with your good works.
You can not place your good deeds on one side of the scale and your sins on the other and somehow make yourself righteous.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23 KJV
It is easy to say that we believe in God when everything is going our way. It is easy to raise our hands, sing worship songs, attend church, and tell others that we have faith.
But true faith is revealed not only by what we say—it is revealed by how we live.
The crowd may choose the wider, easier path because everyone else is going that way.
But following God often means choosing a different path, even when it is difficult, unpopular, or requires sacrifice.
*“I BELIEVE IN GOD” IS NOT THE SAME AS “I OBEY GOD.”*
Belief says, “I know God.”
Obedience says, “I will follow God.”
God does not call us merely to hear His Word, but to live it.
He calls us to forgive when we want to hold a grudge, to love when it is difficult, to remain faithful when nobody is watching, to turn away from sin even when temptation is strong, and to trust Him even when we cannot see what lies ahead.
There will always be a difference between professing faith with our lips and demonstrating faith through our lives.
*Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” — John 14:15*
The question is not simply, “Do you believe in God?”
The deeper question is:
*“Does your life show that you truly follow Him?”*
_Choose obedience._ _Choose faithfulness._ _Choose the narrow path._
Even if you have to walk it alone, keep walking—because following God is worth more than being accepted by the crowd.
*Don’t just say you believe. Live like you believe.*
*Don’t just know His Word. Obey His Word.*
*Don’t just call Him Lord. Let Him be Lord of your life.*
May our faith be more than words. May it become a life surrendered to God.
Believe. Obey. Follow. Persevere.
*YOUR GOOD DEEDS MAY IMPRESS PEOPLE.* *BUT YOUR HEART IMPRESSES GOD*
You can give to the poor. You can feed the hungry. Help the needy. Give money to charity. Volunteer. Attend church. Help your neighbors. Live a respectable life.
People may look at you and say, “WHAT A GOOD PERSON.”
But there is a problem. *PEOPLE SEE YOUR DEEDS. GOD SEES YOUR HEART.*
And before a holy God, good deeds can not erase sin.
“For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.” — Ecclesiastes 7:20 KJV
*Many people misunderstand this:*
SALVATION IS NOT A WAGE YOU EARN.
*IT IS A GIFT GOD GIVES.*
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:23 KJV
Your good deeds may impress people.
Your generosity may earn their respect.
Your morality may make you look righteous before men.
*BUT NONE OF THESE THINGS CAN PURCHASE YOUR SALVATION.*
Why?
*Because salvation already had a price. AND CHRIST PAID IT.*
Jesus Christ went to the cross.
He suffered for sinners.
He shed His precious blood.
He died in our place.
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God...” — 1 Peter 3:18 KJV
You can not pay a debt that Christ has already paid.
*YOU CANNOT BUY WHAT CHRIST ALREADY PAID FOR.*
“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold... But with the precious blood of Christ...” — 1 Peter 1:18-19 KJV
*Think about that.*
You could give away everything you own.
You could spend your entire life helping people.
You could perform thousands of good deeds.
*BUT NONE OF THEM CAN REPLACE THE BLOOD OF CHRIST.*
Your good works are not the payment for salvation.
*CHRIST IS.*
Your morality is not the payment for salvation.
*CHRIST IS.*
Your religion is not the payment for salvation.
*CHRIST IS.*
Your money is not the payment for salvation.
*CHRIST IS.*
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works...” — Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV
Salvation is not something you earn by becoming good enough.
*SALVATION IS BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH.*
And the One you must trust is Jesus Christ.
Not yourself.
Not your record.
Not your achievements.
Not your good deeds.
*CHRIST.*
He died for our sins.
He was buried.
He rose again the third day.
“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” — 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV
THE PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE.
THE BLOOD HAS BEEN SHED.
THE WORK HAS BEEN FINISHED.
So stop trying to buy what God offers as a gift. Stop trusting in what you have done.
*START TRUSTING IN WHAT CHRIST HAS DONE.*
Because one day, your good deeds will not be standing beside you as your payment.
Your money will not be standing beside you.
Your religious accomplishments will not be standing beside you.
Your reputation will not be standing beside you.
YOU WILL STAND BEFORE GOD.
And your only hope is JESUS CHRIST.
“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” — 1 Timothy 2:5 KJV
Your good deeds may impress people.
BUT THEY CANNOT PURCHASE SALVATION.
Your money may buy many things in this life.
BUT IT CANNOT BUY ETERNAL LIFE.
You cannot earn what Christ purchased with His blood.
YOU CANNOT BUY WHAT CHRIST ALREADY PAID FOR.
So do not trust in your goodness.
Do not trust in your works.
Do not trust in your religion.
DO NOT TRUST IN YOURSELF.
TRUST IN CHRIST.
TRUST HIS FINISHED WORK.
TRUST HIS PRECIOUS BLOOD.
ETERNAL LIFE IS NOT FOR SALE.
CHRIST PAID THE PRICE.
AND SALVATION IS THE GIFT.
