CIC53: CELEBRITY IN CHRIST EPISODE 53.
TOPIC: *DO NOT TRADE YOUR CALLING FOR A MOMENT OF COMFORT*
There are people who will develop a prayer life. Who will come to know Jesus and draw close to him, and when that power begins to intensify upon their lives, they leave the secret place but the power remains.
And they trade what was SACRED for what is MATERIAL.
They trade what was PURE for GAIN.
They trade that INTIMACY WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, and they turn it into a PRODUCT.
If you're going to be used by God in any capacity, there are resources that are needed for what you do, that's Biblical, and there's nothing wrong with that.
*BUT IT'S ONE THING TO HAVE RESOURCES, AND ANOTHER FOR THE RESOURCES TO HAVE YOU!*
This doesn't just apply to money. It also applies to fame, to status, where we now trade and leverage, using what we had with God for the sake of gaining what we can have in this world.
And what was once Pure, and Holy, and Simple, becomes SELF-CENTERED AND COMPLICATED. And that becomes a weight on your shoulders.
THIS IS THE TRAP OF SUCCESS WITHOUT SACRIFICE, INFLUENCE WITHOUT INTIMACY, AND PROMOTION WITHOUT PRAYER.
COMFORT gained without SURRENDER leads to BONDAGE.
JESUS SAYS ... "Go and Shine" brightly in a dark and deceptive world, be the Church(Body Of Christ) While RELIGION SAYS ... "Come and Tithe" pretending to be the Church (Body Of Christ). Choose Wisely.
The most dangerous temptations don't feel EVIL. They feel REASONABLE. For example, "Turn these stones into bread." Matthew 4:3, a story of Jesus in the wilderness being tempted.
It sounded logical. Reasonable. Because Jesus was indeed hungry. Your flesh will always beg for shortcuts but what you feed outside of obedience will eventually control you.
*DON'T LEAN ON HEADLINES, TIMELINES OR TRADITIONS. LEAN ON THE HOLY SPIRIT. THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH*
Destiny CANNOT REPLACE Holiness
Potential CANNOT REPLACE Repentance
Empowerment CANNOT REPLACE Sanctification
We don't need SUPERFICIAL ENCOURAGEMENT that comes from Church Attendance, we need SUPERNATURAL EMPOWERMENT that comes from the Holy Spirit.
*We want to SAVE SOULS not IMPROVE LIVES.* DIVINE JUDGEMENT steps in where GRACE has been rejected. REPENT while you still can. If you love God, Obey him.
*RICHES* = Money + Resources + Finances
*WEALTH* = Riches + Good Health + Peace + Joy + Well being + Divine Strength, etc
