A misunderstood treasure called GRACE: PART 17 of *I BELIEVE IN GOD vs I OBEY GOD | TO CHURCH vs TO GOD*
Grace is the most misunderstood treasure in the Christian faith. It has been twisted, abused, diluted and stretched into a cloak for lawlessness.
Some people have reduced grace to nothing more than a cheap permit, an earthly licence to continue in sin, while claiming heaven's covering.
*BUT THIS IS NOT GRACE. IT IS DECEPTION*
True GRACE, the grace that flows from calvary, the grace that comes through Jesus Christ, IS NOT A LICENCE TO SIN, rather *IT IS THE DIVINE POWER THAT EMPOWERS HOLINESS, RIGHTEOUSNESS AND A LIFE SET APART FOR GOD*
The first thing we must establish is this, our righteousness before God is not by our "Holiness, Good works or Moral uprightness". *MAN HAS NO GROUND TO BOAST IN HIMSELF*
The word of God says that all our righteousness are as filthy rags. Read Isaiah 64 vs 6.
*WHAT CAN A RAG PRESENT BEFORE A THRONE OF A HOLY GOD?*
Answer: NOTHING!
Our Salvation is not a joint venture between God and man. It is NOT God doing 90% and man supplying 10%.
*SALVATION IS 100% GOD'S WORK SECURED BY THE SACRIFICE OF HIS SON, SEALED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT AND RECEIVED THROUGH FAITH THAT HE HIMSELF IMPARTS*
It was Christ who left glory, Christ who bore our sins, Christ who drank the bitter cup of wrath, Christ who cried "It is finished" upon the cross. *WE CONTRIBUTED NOTHING BUT THE SINS THAT NAILED HIM THERE.*
Ephesians 2: 8-9 says *8* For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— *9* not by works, so that no one can boast.
Even the faith we exercise is NOT OUR INVENTION. It is birthed by God's Spirit in us and planted like a seed in the soil of our hearts.
*SO WE STAND BEFORE GOD WITH ZERO CONTRIBUTION OF OUR OWN*
We stand clothed NOT IN OUR ACHIEVEMENTS, BUT IN CHRIST'S RIGHTEOUSNESS alone. But here lies the danger.
When men hear that salvation is fully the work of God, some twists this truth into a lie. They say, "Since it is all of God and none of me, I can live anyhow. Grace will cover me. "
They turn the blood of Christ into a license for Immorality, Drunkenness, Adultery, Fornication, Profanity and Worldliness.
*THEY CALL THEIR SIN LIBERTY, AND THEIR REBELLION GRACE*
But this is not biblical grace. This is counterfeit. This is FRAUD. This is delusion. TRUE GRACE IS NEVER AN ALLY OF SIN.
True grace does not pamper the flesh. It crucifies it.
True grace does not excuse worldliness. It calls men out of the world.
Grace does not say, "Go on in darkness, you're covered." Grace shines a light that pierces the darkness.
