APOSTLE PETER (The FOUNDATION of Jesus’s Church) – FROM FAILURE TO FAITHFULNESS
Before the cross, Peter denied Christ. After Pentecost, he preached Christ boldly. Acts 2:14 (KJV) “But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice…”

Peter was impulsive, sometimes fearful, and even denied the Lord. Yet God transformed him into a pillar of the early church.

APOSTLE PETER (The FOUNDATION of Jesus's Church) - FROM FAILURE TO FAITHFULNESS

The Christian life is not about perfection — it is about growth.

*Are you growing?*

*Are you humbler today than you were last year?*

*Do you know the Lord more deeply now?*

We are living in the last days. This is not the time for silent Christians. We need bold *Soulwinners.* We need believers who are not ashamed of the gospel.

Ministry is motivated by love for Christ.

*Not position.*
*Not recognition.*
*Not money.*
*But love.*

If we truly love Him, we will serve Him. Immediate obedience brings blessing. Partial obedience is disobedience.

*Text: 2 Peter 3:18 (KJV)*: “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ…”

Peter’s life proves that God does not use perfect people, but He uses surrendered people.

Peter was impulsive, sometimes fearful, and even denied the Lord. Yet God transformed him into a pillar of the early church.

_Let us look at the qualities that made Peter a man God could use — and what we must follow today._

*I. A Readiness to Follow Christ*

Matthew 4:20 (KJV)
“And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.”

When Jesus called, Peter did not negotiate. He did not delay. He left his nets.

*Application:*
Many today are saved but not surrendered. God calls men to preach, to serve, to separate from sin — yet many hesitate.

Immediate obedience brings blessing. Partial obedience is disobedience.

*II. Boldness in Preaching the Gospel*

Before the cross, Peter denied Christ. After Pentecost, he preached Christ boldly.

Acts 2:14 (KJV)
“But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice…”

Acts 4:13 (KJV)
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John…”

*What changed him?* The power of the Holy Spirit.

*Application:*
We are living in the last days. This is not the time for silent Christians. We need bold soulwinners. We need believers who are not ashamed of the gospel.

Romans 1:16 still says,
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ…”

*III. Repentance After Failure*

Peter denied the Lord three times.

Luke 22:62 (KJV)
“And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.”

Notice — he wept. He repented. He did not justify his sin.

The difference between Judas and Peter was not the sin — it was the response.

*Application:*
Christians fall. But godly Christians repent quickly. Do not stay down. Do not hide in pride.

Confess it.
Forsake it.
Return to the Lord.

*IV. Love for Christ Above All*

After His resurrection, Jesus asked Peter three times:

John 21:17 (KJV)
“Lovest thou me?… Feed my sheep.”

Ministry is motivated by love for Christ.

Not position.
Not recognition.
Not money.
But love.

If we truly love Him, we will serve Him.

*V. Faithfulness in Suffering*

Peter was imprisoned, threatened, and persecuted.

Yet he wrote:

1 Peter 4:16 (KJV)
“Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed…”

Modern Christianity often seeks comfort.
Biblical Christianity expects opposition.

If you stand for truth, you will face criticism.
If you preach the gospel, you will face resistance.
But faithfulness is what God honors.

VI. Growth and Humility

Peter matured.

The impulsive fisherman became a humble disciple.

1 Peter 5:6 (KJV)
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God…”

2 Peter 3:18 (KJV)
“But grow in grace…”

The Christian life is not about perfection — it is about growth.

Are you growing?
Are you humbler today than you were last year?
Do you know the Lord more deeply now?

*Conclusion*

Peter’s life teaches us:

• You can fail and still be restored.
• You can be weak and become bold.
• You can stumble and still finish faithful.

God is not looking for perfect vessels.
He is looking for yielded vessels.

Let us determine today:

“I will follow immediately.”
“I will preach boldly.”
“I will repent quickly.”
“I will love Christ supremely.”
“I will endure faithfully.”
“I will grow continually.”

And may we say as Peter said in Acts 5:29 (KJV)

*“We ought to obey God rather than men.”*
