CIC38: CELEBRITY IN CHRIST EPISODE 38.
TOPIC: Slaves or SONS (Servants).
When men preach fear, they create Slaves not sons. They raise congregations of people who tremble at the thought of punishment *BUT WHO DO NOT BURN IN LOVE FOR THE ONE WHO REDEEMED THEM*
They teach people to seek heaven, not because heaven holds the lord of glory but because heaven is an escape from torment.
*THAT IS NOT LOVE, THAT IS SELFISHNESS. AND SELFISHNESS CAN NEVER PLEASE GOD*
There is no fear in love, but perfect love CASTS OUT FEAR. Because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. Read *1st John 4:18*
The cup of fury was drained at calvary. The storm of justice fell on Christ not on you. For God made him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in him. *2 Corinthians 5:21*
The wrath that you fear has already been absorbed by your substitute.
*TO PREACH WRATH TO THOSE IN CHRIST IS A LIE BECAUSE CHRIST HAS BORNE IT ALL*
The Gospel (good news) does not enslave. It *SETS FREE* Consider it deeply. If fear could produce holiness, then the law would have saved Israel.
Fear restrained Israel for a moment, but it could not change their hearts. *ONLY LOVE TRANSFORMS!* It is this love that seizes a man's soul and bends it joyfully towards Repentance.
When a believer truly grasps the magnitude of God's love, obedience ceases to be a burden. It becomes a delight.
*THE COMMANDS OF GOD ARE NO LONGER HEAVY CHAINS, BUT SWEET PATHWAYS OF FELLOWSHIP.*
The one who obeys out of fear says, "I must, or else I will be punished." The one who obeys out of love says,"I will because he loved me first."
*THIS IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SLAVERY AND SONSHIP*
A slave serves to avoid the whip while a son serves to honour his father.
Romans 8:15 states, "For you did not receive a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a Spirit of adoption as sons, by which we cry out, 'Abba! Father!'"
This verse highlights the transformative power of God's Spirit in believers' lives, replacing a spirit of fear and bondage with a relationship of love and sonship with God.
RELIGION, Religious practices, and religious mindsets put you in BONDAGE of the law. While a DAILY personal relationship with God through our Lord Jesus Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit SETS YOU FREE.
