TOPIC: *Material Wealth In Modern Churches*
One of the most troubling trends in modern churches is their increasing focus on material wealth.
For many believers, this feels completely out of alignment with the true teachings of Jesus.
We are constantly reminded in the Scriptures that spiritual riches are more important than material wealth.
*Matthew 6:19-21* is a passage where Jesus instructs people to store up treasures in heaven instead of on earth: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal"
*Matthew 6:20:* "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal"
*Matthew 6:21: "* For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also"
*Many churches seem to have forgotten these Essential Truths.*
When churches prioritize money, weather it is through constant fundraising efforts, building expansions, or prosperity focused messages, it can feel disheartening for those who are truly seeking spiritual growth.
The Chosen Ones see through this Materialism and understand that a deep relationship with God CANNOT be bought, sold or measured by Material Success.
Stepping away from a church that emphasises materialism is NOT a rejection of community or faith. *IT IS A STAND FOR AUTHENTICITY*
God is not impressed by wealth, titles, or grand buildings. *ASK YOURSELF, WHAT DOES GOD REALLY WANT FROM US?*
1 Samuel 16:7 Reminds Us that Our Heart Matters - I want your hearts attuned to me, desiring me, loving. 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at.
What matters to God is the condition of your heart, your relationship with him, and your commitment to living in alignment to HIS WILL.
By breaking free from the materialistic focus of the church, Chosen Ones and True Believers are able to refocus their energy on what truly matters. *SPIRITUAL GROWTH, DEEPENING THEIR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD AND LIVING IN ALIGNMENT WITH THEIR DIVINE PURPOSE*
At this point, there is no pressure to keep up with the appearance of success or to contribute to endless financial campaigns.
*INSTEAD THE FOCUS SHIFTS TO THE INTERNAL WEALTH THAT COMES FROM A CLOSE AND PERSONAL CONNECTION WITH GOD*
This doesn't mean that Chosen Ones reject generosity or community support. On the contrary, true generosity flows naturally from a heart that is aligned with God.
*2nd Corinthians 9 vs 7* says Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. *Hope this answers your questions about Tithes and Offerings?*
