Platinum Sponsor: PM.Ideas
PM.Ideas has evolved from a company founded in 2001 by a team of entrepreneurial and passionate project managers to the leading project management and leadership training and services provider in South Africa. We are a company that embraces a strong foundation of commitment, integrity, quality, flexibility and excellence in all that we do.
As a result of Mindset, a leading training provider based in Sweden, acquiring a majority stake in PM.Ideas in 2008, we are a company that is moving forward into a new era of growth and opportunity. We are now positioned to provide project management and leadership training and consulting services across the globe.
The core reason for our existence is to strengthen the capabilities of people and enable organisational improvement. We achieve this through aligning the right project management and leadership training courses, consulting services and products to our clients’ specific needs and organisational maturity levels.
We live in a dynamic and rapidly changing business environment; one in which our clients have significant needs. It is our goal to embrace change and to be responsive and accountable to you as we meet and exceed your needs. To do so, we combine our professional skills, our diversity, our team-driven yet pragmatic approach and our relentless pursuit of meeting your objectives – always ready to take the next step, fired by a passion to be the best.
Gold Sponsor: USB-ED Centre for Business Management of Projects
The Centre for Business Management of Projects at USB Executive Development (USB-ED) aims to offer world-class training and development; applied research and consultative coaching in the field of business management of projects.
Projects with significant potential to influence the risk profile of an organisation often do not meet the critical objectives that were promised to decision-making bodies at the time of sanctioning the funding. This offers USB-ED a distinct opportunity to play a major role in building business and project management capacity to address these challenges.
The Centre has entered into relationships with three renowned institutions in the world of project management: The Bartlett School of Construction and Project Management at the University College of London, the International Centre for Programme Management at Cranfield School of Management, and Independent Project Analysis Inc. – a leading organisation in the domain of project benchmarking headquartered in Virginia, USA.
International Programme for Business Management of Projects will be presented in 2013. The Centre has also commenced with the development of a conceptual model that will address the need that currently exists with young graduates in the engineering domain to become practising engineers soon after graduation. The Centre, in conjunction with the chair of Construction Engineering and Management at the Civil Engineering Department of the University of Stellenbosch, will act as an incubator for the development of this model.
The Centre remains actively involved in the management of programmes in the public sector. It is also embarking on strengthening its capacity to advise on capital spending and the improvement of project management capabilities with the aim of enhancing delivery capability in this domain.
